Located right next door to the iconic 9:30 Club, The Atlantis was built as a tribute to the original 9:30 Club space and designed to give emerging artists a more intimate stage before they graduate to larger venues. With its smaller capacity and close-quarters setup, it creates a unique environment where fans can experience rising acts up close—making it one of the most exciting new venues in Washington, D.C. That setting was on full display as Krooked Kings brought their indie rock sound to the stage, joined by opener Night Cap, an emerging band gaining momentum for their dynamic live performances.

Night Cap was an incredible opener for Krooked Kings at The Atlantis in Washington, D.C. From the moment they stepped on stage, they brought a high level of energy and immediately set the tone for the rest of the night. It was one of the strongest opening performances I’ve seen in a while—and that’s not an exaggeration. They engaged the crowd early and created the perfect atmosphere for what was to come.

Krooked Kings followed with a standout performance, completely captivating the room during the 11th stop of their 19-show tour. From the start, the crowd was fully locked in—nodding along, vibing with the music, and clearly enjoying every moment. The band commanded the stage with confidence and maintained that energy throughout the set. Standout moments included “My Friend Max,” “Carbon Monoxide,” and “Catacombs,” each of which drew strong reactions and applause from the audience.

As the night seemed to wind down, the crowd wasn’t ready for it to end—chanting “one more song!” and bringing the band back out for an encore. It elevated an already exciting show and closed the night on a high note. What made the experience even more memorable was both bands taking time after the show to interact with fans, adding a personal touch to an already great night.

Overall, it was an incredible concert experience at The Atlantis, with both Night Cap and Krooked Kings delivering a performance to remember—especially for my first time at the venue.
